Abstract

This study arises from the need to generate knowledge that can contribute to increasing the productive efficiency of agroecological farmers, in this sense, it evaluates the use of biofertilizer in the emergence and development of sesame seedlings in order to contribute with information that encourages the use of this bioinput of easy production by farmers themselves on their properties. Therefore, it is worth highlighting that this work has an interdisciplinary vision that seeks to contribute to solving the problems faced by farmers in the Euclides da Cunha region, as well as in other regions, such as soil degradation and reduction in biodiversity. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate the emergence and development of sesame seedlings soaked in solutions with different concentrations of biofertilizer. For this purpose, research was conducted in a greenhouse in the experimental field of the Department of Human Sciences and Technologies – DCHT XXII of the State University of Bahia – UNEB, located in the municipalities of Euclides da Cunha – BA. The experimental design adopted was completely randomized (DIC) with 5 treatments and 4 replications, in which the pre-germination treatments consisted of: soaking the seeds in distilled water (T1); soaking the seeds in a diluted biofertilizer solution with a concentration of 0.5% (T2); soaking the seeds in a diluted biofertilizer solution with a concentration of 1.0% (T3); soaking the seeds in a diluted biofertilizer solution with a concentration of 2.0% (T4); and soaking the seeds in a diluted biofertilizer solution with a concentration of 4.0% (T5). The following parameters were evaluated: seedling root length; seedling length; fresh seedling mass; emergency speed index and emergency percentage. After analyzing the data, it was observed that soaking sesame seeds in a low concentration Biofertilizer solution (solution with a concentration of 2.0%) favors the emergence and development of the seedling.
