Abstract

This essay brings reflections on human well-being, health and development, in the light of elements of Positive Psychology and the environmental field. Based on a reflective and critical review, notions of resilience and human well-being are presented, in composition with new understandings of health, including mental health, in dimensions that overcome pathogenic models. The current conception of mental health refers to the presence of a positive emotional experience (a state of well-being), manifested by the active involvement of the subject in the use of capacities and management of daily stress, capable of working productively and contributing to their community. Finally, human development in its environmental interactions, together with the contributions of Positive Psychology, emphasizes the exploration of emotions and positive traits, which are recognized as offering conditions for the development of well-being, human talent, resilience, happiness and happiness. Flourishing, thus converging to overcome everyday problems, with emphasis on the awareness of the relevance of the cultural-community field for health promotion
