The presentation is about the social management that is implemented in the sanitation sector of the Municipality of Montevideo together with environmental management. A brief historical presentation is made that frames the inclusion of the social perspective in the Urban Sanitation Plan of Montevideo, in the Sanitation Division and in the Department of Environmental Development. The axes of work that support and traverse the professional intervention and the methodology that is applied from the Socio-Environmental Unit are shared with emphasis on change management. Finally, a specific experience is shared in which the above is exemplified: the Quijote stormwater buffer tank.
