Abstract

The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) triggered a global health crisis that affected the economic and social structures of practically all countries. Along with this, there is evidence of a series of vulnerabilities in the global agri-food system, from production to marketing and consumption. The short commercialization circuits when developed in the context of Agroecology are capable of offering solutions for many of these problems, building and strengthening regional processes and helping to create contextualized solutions for local problems. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the vulnerabilities of the long chains of food production and distribution will become more evident, verifying the need to develop new marketing models that guarantee food security for the population in times of crisis. In this way, the present study aims to make a brief bibliographical review on the concept of two short commercialization circuits from the perspective of Agroecology, presenting their potentialities in the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
