INTERFACES BETWEEN SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY AND PHARMACEUTICAL ORGANIZATIONS

This article aims to: Analyze sustainable action practices in urban drugstore systems. The methodology used consisted of a case study of a sustainable action modality, called ECOMED, which works like an ATM and has three collectors: ointments and pills; liquids and sprays; boxes and package inserts. The research follows the bias, of a qualitative nature, seeking to understand realities and their meanings. It was concluded that this action promoted the reduction of inappropriate disposal of drugs in urban areas. Therefore, minimizing impacts of water, air and soil contamination. According to the Federal Council of Pharmacy (CFF), our country occupies the sixth position among the largest consumer markets for medicines on the world stage. The use of medicines is essential for health maintenance, however, access, use and disposal have been causing environmental impacts and public health problems. This research also highlights the role of the pharmacist, an essential professional in this process of commitment and socio-environmental responsibility, as he is directly responsible for establishing and complying with a number of rules and procedures within organizations.
